MTC Snapshots

Just a few pictures of Bryce's time in the MTC (sorry about the quality, they were scanned in).

Elder Halligan. One of Bryce's favorites. Teeth brushing dates in the bathroom every night.
Dad would be proud.

MTC News

After three short weeks Bryce is off to Washington DC! Here are a few tid-bits (taken from emails) of his time in the MTC.

"Our zone leader gave an analogy last week for the MTC. It is like trying to drink out of a fire hydrant. This is very true. They have us on the move constantly, but it is very rewarding. I'm so happy with the progress I have already made. My companion and I are slowly but surely getting better at teaching.

We taught a lady yesterday named Salafaia. Real person but fake investigator. We taught the whole first lesson to her, and fake-committed her to be fake-baptized! I felt to fake-overjoyed. But the thing is it actually felt real. She expressed how she was feeling like God doesn't know her personally so we tried to relate everything back to that idea. It was great.

Things of Note:

- Elder Mower and I try to find new ways to get up on our top bunks to keep things fresh. Tonight's method- the 180 spin move.
- All the Elders are jealous of Elder Snickerdoodle; for that very reason.
- We got our flight itinerary. We stop in Minnesota on the way and will probably be there early evening.
- The Temple was so nice this morning but we had to wake up an extra hour earlier. Ouch.
- If you don't feel like what is on the menu here, you skip the meal and call it a fast.
- The only money I've spent since being here is at the Temple. Irony.

I can feel myself getting stronger in what I believe. Praying 27 times a day and having the spirit with you the whole time helps. It's awesome to be around 2000 other who are in the same boat as well. It's hard to say goodbye to a district every week because you feel like you know them so well due to the environment we are constantly in.

Don't have a ton of time but just know that I am doing very well. Some say the MTC is a place of nightmares but I disagree. I think it is wonderfully long and tough. I am learning how to be a better missionary, husband and father as well. I know that my redeemer lives, and I plan on shouting that from the rooftops to all the people of DC and VA. I love you all and can't wait to see you in two!"

He promises to send pictures next time :)

Saying Goodbye

Because of the change in MTC drop off rules, we said goodbye to Bryce at the airport....

and the other half of our family took care of the rest :)

It was hard for us to see him go but he was so excited and very ready. We love you Bryce!

The Call

Bryce was called to serve in the Washington D.C. South Mission! On May 19th he reports to the MTC (Missionary Training Center) in Provo, Utah where he will spend three weeks preparing. Then on June 9th he'll be on his way to D.C.

Steve and I couldn't be there because of school and my parents and Tyler were at home in Washington so they hooked up a few computers so we could skype! I was so glad we still had a way to see him open it. Thank you technology.

(Thanks to our sister-in-law Meredith for taking the pictures).
